Location: On a motorcycle
They’re over there at their place!

Or is it… Their over they’re at there place? Or maybe There over their at they’re place? AAGH I’m confuzuled! Which form to use, when?

To know which form to use, first know what each form means and what it’s used for.

“They’re” is a contraction, short for “they are”. Grammatically, it’s a subject and verb, never a modifier.
Usage: They’re going to learn good grammar.

“Their” is a possessive pronoun, describing a noun. Yes, it violates the “I before E except after C” rule.
Usage: Their motorcycle goes really fast on twisty roads.

“There” refers to a location, either definite (“there, by the tree”) or abstract (“it’s hard to be there”).

OK, that’s the basics. Are there easy tips to know which form? Of course. Replace the word with these substitutes, see if the sentence still makes sense.

For “there”, replace with “here”.
Let’s go over [there | here].

For “their”, replace with “our”.
[Their | our] house is painted blue.

For “they’re”, replace with “they are”.
[They’re | they are] very nice people.

Now, let’s try again, with the sentence starting this essay. Let’s replace each form with its match.

Their over they’re at there place.
Our over they are at here place. What? That makes NO sense at all! Why? Because each choice was the wrong one!

There over their at they’re place.
Here over our at they are place. Once again, a nonsensical sentence, because of wrong word choice.

Lastly,
They’re over there at their place. Becomes…
They are over here at our place! Still makes sense. This is the correct form.

Write well, my friends.

Nice helpful hints, Galanity. Another way I have found helpful is to ask the right questions.

Their is whose - eg., Whose picture is that? That is their picture.

There is where - eg., Where are they going? They are going over there.

They're is who are - eg., Who are getting ready for the pie eating contest? They're getting ready for the pie eating contest.
