Have you ever seen the entire simulation video, with actual control tower/aircraft conversation, from takeoff to landing in the Hudson, of US Airways Flight #1549? I hadn't until today. Holy lordie, what courage and calm Capt. Sullenberger had! No wonder people have been totally blown away (I saw him interviewed on The Jon Stewart Show - incredible man).
Apparently, if you look up the phrase "cool under pressure" in the dictionary, there's a picture of Captain Sullenberger illustrating the definition. How long will it be, I wonder, before the pundits coin the phrase "pulling a Sullenberger" to mean acting in a calm, cool way under pressure to salvage a potentially disastrous situation?
