Thanks for the well-wishing, Xerius. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my son's Thanksgiving trip to visit me, because I had a strange but exceedingly painful malady in my foot. It was so bad I couldn't sleep, and it finally had me crying before it started behaving and died down.
After some research on Wert's part and discussion with a friend who has considerable medical knowledge, we decided it must be a stress fracture (that malady fit all my symptoms, including the pain dying down and going away). I didn't go to the doctor, because with all the pain pills I'm on, if they didn't help, then nothing would. I kept off the foot and kept it warm, which, according to the research, was the course recommended.
It's better now, thank goodness. In another post, Xerius mentioned this had been quite an event-filled year. YES, unfortunately, not the good kind, though.
On the bright side, Wert and I had bought a bunch of Thanksgiving fixings for Tom's anticipated visit, so we went ahead and had our traditional turkey dinner anyway. It was totally yummy, and Oreo, who was still with us then, had a lovely turkey dinner that he thoroughly enjoyed.
