FantasyFic

FANTASYFIC came about through the desire to offer the fantasy fiction of Sandra "Raya" Bell Kirchman to the fantasy-reading public. Kirchman's first published book, Witchcanery, was originally written as part of the NaNoWriMo challenge in November, 2002. What kind of challenge? you might well ask. Surprisingly, it's not the writing of a novel; it is the writing of a novel in 30 days. This was successfully accomplished (in 28 days!) amid the undeniable litter of unmade beds, uncooked meals, unspoken conversations with friends and family, and approximately 23 gallons of coffee. After many revisions, readings and polishings, Witchcanery was originally published as a paperback and released on July 1, 2007.

Subsequently, Witchcanery was taken to iUniverse and redone as a second edition, releasing in November, 2008. The second edition won recognition, such as Editor's Choice Award and Rising Star Award. It is now on sale as both a hard cover novel and a paperback. See home page for order details.

FANTASYFIC also offers reading privileges to members of selected stories from the fantasy short story collection of Sandra Bell Kirchman. Many of these stories are set in the mysterious world of Athero, a world teeming with diverse races and cultures—high sea elves and halflings, goblins and gabos, orcs and oulongs, black elves and beastmen, to name a few. FantasyFic Staff

Sandra "Raya" Bell Kirchman - FantasyFic's main writer and President
At the age of six, Sandra discovered the magic of the Land of Oz. Her first encounter with these wonderful stories by L. Frank Baum drew her into a realm of imagination and delight. Her psyche was inspired, and she vowed that, one day, she would write stories that sent the mind and spirit soaring into the universe. A former journalist, police writer, and radio personality, Sandra was charmed by the internet in 1997, and, as Raya, started traveling down the trail of online gaming news.

The founder of FantasyFic.com, Sandra is hard at work writing short fantasy stories, working to consolidate her NaNoWriMo 2007 and 2008 novels into one epic novel, Battle Cleric: The Lost Scroll of the Gods. She also continues her work-in-progress, an epic fantasy and the first in a trilogy, with the working title of Stranger on the Shore. In addition, Sandra is working with a few of the writers at the FantasyFic forum to produce an anthology of short stories hopefully by Christmas 2009. In her private life, Sandra lives with her husband Ernest and their little Shih Tzu puppies Ling Ling (pictured) and Oreo in quiet, little Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. A weekly freelance contributor to the town's newspaper, The Miner-Journal, Sandra volunteers much of her time to community projects, such as reading to the kids at the library and working as the Literary Arts chairperson on the Esterhazy & District Arts Council.

Ernest "Wertaf" Kirchman - FantasyFic's Vice President and Manager of Research, Promotion & Development
Wertaf is an inspiring person. The reason for this is he is one of the rare people who listens and pays attention to his gut feelings. Very often he is dead right and pursues his course of action because he honestly feels it is the best. A college graduate with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electronics, Wert has recently received his Permanent Residency status in Canada and has returned to the job he loves as journeyman painter and decorator in Esterhazy as a private contractor. Wert is regarded as one of the main pillars of strength behind the FantasyFic.com structure.
